"The medical costs (after insurance) for Penelope's home birth and prenatal care came in around $5,500. Lillian's prenatal care and hospital cesarean birth cost us around $12,000, including her short NICU stay. The most significant way to help our family welcome our new baby is to contribute to the astronomical medical costs. Hopefully new baby will join us with few complications and keep our costs limited to around $5,300. Another welcome gift would be to call your government representatives and ask them to help lower the costs of medical expenses for our communities, including maintaining and expanding Medicaid and CHIP."
