If you’re reading this, we’re so excited to share this chapter with you. Growing up as only children shaped so much of who we are, and we both spent our whole childhoods wondering what it would be like to have siblings. That wish slowly turned into wanting a (big) family of our own.

It took a while to evaluate the different options for building a family, from fostering, to adoption, to surrogacy. We finally landed on a surrogacy journey, and for the past two years, we’ve tried to build a family with multiple egg donors, two surrogates, and lots of anxiety.. with no luck. And then finally in August, we got the news that there was a successful heartbeat. Third time’s the charm! 💗

The experience has been a rollercoaster as you can imagine— what international agency is the best for us? How do we pay for it since insurance doesn’t cover LGBT? How do we choose from a catalogue of hundreds of egg donors? What happens if something medically critical happens? But this whole process has been one giant lesson in letting go of what we can’t control, trusting the people helping us, and rolling with whatever life throws our way.
