"These are too big but think they will be good once he grows. Will likely need to swaddle with a blanket (hospital if you can snag some) for a while before he fits in these. Some brands on amazon have xs which might work right out of the hospital"

"A mattress pad may not be needed but we got this and it is the waterproof cover as well so it is nice"

"This is good but I would have you two decide if you want one that connects via Bluetooth and phone app vs this one which has its own monitor. Some have security concerns via the WiFi connection for the ones that connect to phones but it would be nice if you could just use your phone."

"Brand doesn’t matter but I would suggest making sure to get one that has a base and the car seat. This allows you to keep the base in the car and easily get the car seat/ carrier in and out and attach to accompanying stroller. If you want a higher end one we got a Nuna for 200 on fb (stroller and car seat + base) but all the graco items we have have been good"

"Haven’t used this but thinking it makes things nice and easy but may be good to have a normal thermometer because the pediatrician said they prefer rectal measurements for accuracy"
