Our doula specializes in unmedicated home birth, bringing experience, calm, and encouragement into this unique setting. Your gift helps cover things like: Prenatal visits – guidance on birth plans, comfort measures, nutrition, and preparing for labor. One-on-one classes – personalized birthing classes and infant care classes. Labor & birth support – continuous presence during labor with massage, counter-pressure, positioning, breathing support, and encouragement. Comfort & care supplies – a rebozo for positioning, essential oils, birth ball use, prayer cards, sun lamps, and other tools that support body, mind, and spirit. Nourishment – home-cooked meals prepared by our doula to help with recovery and adjustment after birth. Emotional support – steady reassurance for both mom and partner throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Advocacy – help with communicating our wishes with care providers. Postpartum care – newborn feeding support, recovery tips, emotional check-ins, and helpful resources. Having a doula has been shown to shorten labor, reduce interventions, and increase overall satisfaction with birth. "Midwives are trained medical professionals who specialize in supporting pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a focus on natural, family-centered care. Our midwife is highly experienced in unmedicated home birth, offering both the clinical expertise and the calm, personalized support that help families feel safe and empowered throughout the process. Because our insurance does not cover home birth, this gift is deeply appreciated and goes directly toward making this safe, empowering care possible for us. Your gift helps cover: Prenatal care – regular in-home appointments that start monthly, then shift to biweekly, and eventually weekly as the due date approaches. Each visit includes thorough checkups (blood pressure, weight, urine tests, listening to baby’s heartbeat, measuring growth, and checking baby’s position) along with plenty of time for questions and conversation. Holistic guidance – support for nutrition, lifestyle, natural remedies, and emotional well-being throughout pregnancy. Medical expertise at birth – skilled monitoring of both mom and baby, plus access to medical supplies such as oxygen, IV fluids, medications for emergencies, birth kits, sterile instruments, suturing if needed, and newborn care equipment. Labor & delivery support – hands-on, continuous care throughout birth, ensuring safety and comfort while honoring our goal of an unmedicated home birth. Postpartum visits – immediate newborn checks after birth, plus follow-up visits in the first hours, days, and weeks to monitor recovery, emotional health, breastfeeding, and baby’s growth. Breastfeeding & newborn support – guidance for establishing feeding and navigating those tender early weeks. Having a midwife by our side means receiving care that blends medical safety with compassionate presence, all within the comfort of our home.
