Marisa's Baby Registry
We're incredibly excited to be welcoming our first baby this October. This little boy is truly a dream come true for us, especially for Marisa, who has known forever that she wanted to be a mom. She couldn't imagine a better partner to step into this adventure with than Jordan, who has already started building spreadsheets, researching the best baby gear, diving into parenting books and techniques, and (trying to) prepare for every possible scenario.
Baby Braun is already measuring ahead on ultrasounds, and based on current estimates, we're expecting him to be on the bigger side at birth and likely in the higher percentiles for height and weight, though we know things can change before he gets here.
As first-time parents, we're looking forward to learning as we go and discovering what works best for our little family. We've tried to build a registry that reflects what we think we'll need during his first year while also leaving room to learn his personality and preferences along the way.
Since we live in Northern California, where the weather can shift quickly from chilly mornings to warm afternoons, we're planning on dressing him in layers throughout the year. Below is a rough guide for the seasons and clothing sizes we're anticipating, keeping in mind that babies grow at their own pace!
October – November (Newborn–3 Months)
Cooler weather, cozy days at home, and time spent nesting during cold and flu season. We're planning primarily for 0–3 month clothing, with a few newborn essentials just in case.
December – February (3–6 Months)
Chilly winter months call for warm sleepers, footies, and plenty of layering pieces. Mostly 3–6 month clothing.
March – April (5–7 Months)
Spring is starting to peek through! We'll likely be spending more time outside, so lightweight layers, comfortable play clothes, and sun hats will be helpful. Mostly 6–9 month clothing.
May – August (7–10 Months)
Summer adventures, beach days, visits to San Diego, and lots of outdoor time are on the agenda. We're looking for lightweight, breathable outfits, swim gear, and sun protection. Mostly 6–9 and 9–12 month clothing.
September – October (11–12 Months)
Fall returns, bringing cooler mornings and evenings, so cozy pajamas, layering pieces, and light jackets will be appreciated. Mostly 9–12 month clothing.
We're also planning to try a variety of diaper and wipe brands until we find what works best for our little guy, especially since Mom has sensitive skin. We've included some options recommended by our doctors that are well-rated for sensitive skin and durability. We've also added a diaper and wipe fund as we're not yet sure which brands will work best for him. Thank you for helping us navigate this fun (and likely messy!) part of first-time parenthood.
Most of all, thank you for celebrating this new season with us and for being part of the village already surrounding our little dude with so much love. We can't wait for him to meet you all.
