Welcoming Jacob Silas 🩵

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"We are using an IBCLC to support us at home with breastfeeding and pumping. She helps us prepare and also asses after baby is here. My insurance doesn’t cover IBCLC care and requires us to be self pay."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"Lindsey Hughes and her team will be support us in the safety and comfort of our home! We would really appreciate home birth care being the primary support. If you know me, you know my first baby didn’t leave the NICU and I had a traumatic time at the hospital previously. If we are healthy, the prayer is to birth at home!"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"I am going to have a doula close to me be my early labor support as well as photograph my labor and the birth, her name is Taylor & her cost will be $800."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"I will need as many nursing rules as I can get! Ideally all without wire and preferably cotton fabric as I have sensitive skin"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"For disposable diapers, this is the brand that we would prefer. Everyone have on hand as we our anticipating a baby with sensitive skin, mom has skin sensitivity to fragrances and certain detergents so we would like to ensure that we are prepared for Baby to have similar sensitivities! All sizes of this brand would be great to have on hand!"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"These are probably the most simple and straightforward to use as well as as cost-effective options for all in one diaper. They can be used with any brand of diaper covers and are generally more preferred or heavy wetters. Please consider a variety of sizes when purchasing in bulk quantities."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"Prefold cloth diapers take more patience but are very low cost and super easy maintenance. They can also be used to layer in diapers of any brand or under any cover! We would like multiple sizes in these"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"This brand has a great deal for clearance diapers! We only need 40-50 diapers (20 newborn & 20 size 2) to last us until age 2!"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"Pocket diapers are probably the most easy to use diapers but they don’t hold as much. We are happy to have any cloth diapers but these are great for affordability."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"Washing cloth diapers requires a specific cleaning process including avoiding heavy chemicals or fragrance. This ensures the longevity and quality of the diapers for future babies."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"Can be used to make poops easier to clean out of the diapers"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"These are wool liners used for overnight diapers, we need daytime and overnight"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"We need bulk inserts to interchange with cloth diapers, and to layer in the diapers"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"Cloth wipes or water wipes are preferred"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"We are cloth diapering primarily but will use disposable here and there."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"This is an alternative option that we would be open to for a travel system or as a second travel system for Dad. We would be open to secondhand as long as the car seat has not been in any vehicle accident and is not expired!"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"Ideally, we would like one travel system to be user-friendly and convenient for mom, this one is compact when closed saving space in the car. It also allows for the car seat to be easily transferred over, keeping things simple for times when mom is on the go by herself with the baby. Can be secondhand as long as car seat is not expired and has not been in an accident"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"We need one bassinet for our home, it can be new or secondhand as long as that has a way to close the top of it. We would like to keep the cats out of the bassinet with the baby."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"For all family to keep diapering easy"

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"I would like to have at least a couple of labor gowns on hand in case I do have to labor at the hospital for any reason. It will allow me not to have to wear a hospital gown and for more comfortable, not being exposed the way that normal hospital gowns allow. This will also be something I can comfortably wear in Postpartum for nursing purposes while I recover."

Note from Brittany and Jacob:

"If anyone would like to contribute to meals that are specifically designed to sustain postpartum healing and lactation, but aren’t sure where to start, this company is by far the easiest and most bang for your buck while being nutritionally dense! They have gift options available, otherwise we would love home cooked recipes."
