Baby Shenassa's Registry
Welcome to Baby Girl's registry!! Thank you for anything that you contribute to easing the start of her life and the start of our family. We intend to have at least one sibling for Baby Girl eventually, so please know anything purchased will be used to the fullest extent!
As parents, Stephen and I have talked at great lengths about what we want to prioritize for Baby Girl. You are welcome to get additional things for her outside of the registry, but we would like to provide some guidelines. We really value her cognitive development and physical health. The items on this list support this initiative we have! Here are the guidelines we used to help figure out what made the cut.
Homemade is always welcome:
If you quilt, knit, sew, woodwork, etc, we would LOVE to have items created by you in our home and enriching Baby Girl's life. It would be a privilege to have your art to inspire Baby Girl.
Minimize lead and plastic exposure:
With eating and play, we really want to prioritize natural materials. IE: Stainless steel and glass eating utensils and bottles with lead-free paints and wooden or soft fabric toys.
Prioritize safe natural fabrics:
In regard to what touches baby's skin, natural fibers reduce the risk of rashes and irritation, as well as remove the risk of forever chemicals used by some mass manufacturers.
Play is where the mind grows:
Despite how fun they look, we will not be using light-up or noise-making toys; this includes iPads and TVs for the first several years of life. Open-ended toys like wooden blocks, stuffed animals, dolls, and magnet tiles have been proven to teach and build creativity and patience. Those skills are irreplaceable, and they start from day one.
Colors are for everyone:
Respectfully, we would like to include colors outside of Pink in Baby Girl's wardrobe. This is in the interest of maintaining Baby Girl's privacy. This will change as she becomes whoever she is, but we want to protect her during her infancy and toddlerhood the best we can. We love cool tones like Greens, Blues, and Purples. Additionally, we intend to use all these items with the next kiddo, and they could very well be a little fella!
Multipurpose quality items:
We love an item that can be used for multiple uses! We want to best utilize the money spent on our baby so that nothing is wasted.
I know it may sound picky and over the top, but we only have one chance to build her mind and body, and we intend to do what is best and backed by science to do so.
Thank you again for being a part of our lives! We are so excited to share in this journey with you.
Love,
The "Mom to Be"
