"We would love to hire a doula to help me have an empowered and supportive birth experience! The cost of a doula is around $2,000-2,500 - which includes 1-2 prenatal visits, ongoing text and phone support throughout my pregnancy, availability to attend any appointments we may want, physical and emotional support for both myself and Chris throughout my labor, coaching for Chris to be able to provide effective pain management and birthing support to me, advocacy for my birthing preferences, lactation support, birth photography, and a postpartum visit to process the birth, bring me a warm meal, and provide any support I need as a new mom. Doula’s are associated with significantly improved birthing outcomes, including decreased risk of requiring a c-section or other interventions, improved fetal outcomes, supporting a smoother labor and overall shorter labor time, and generally a more positive birth experience."
