The word “CHAPTER” has appeared to us more times this year than any other word. We’ve taken this word as our newest motto. “We trust the next chapter because I know the author.” My gracious God has blessed us with a rainbow baby after 6 years of trying and miscarriages. We’ve always dreamed of having more children, but we trusted God’s plan more; if we were only meant to have two earth side children, I knew our hearts were being prepared for those “teenage years” and possibly needing to love on the friends our children would grow to love and surround themselves with. From 2020, we have had heartbreaks with miscarriage, so often so that I didn’t think I could mentally cope with it anymore. The two most recent miscarriages occurred in 2024 & 2025. Mother’s Day of 2024 I was so excited to finally tell my family I was expecting…just for the devastation of losing our baby to occur that weekend. My heart broke. Christmas time and into New Years of 2025 we had the pink lines again! Just for our entire household to get sick with the flu and ultimately making me lose our baby once again on New Year’s Eve. But through this all, my faith in God and the love and support from my husband has kept me from falling into the dark and negative. What an honor it is to say that THIS YEAR, one Mother’s Day weekend, I find out I’m expecting once again…with a due date of NEW YEAR’S DAY. My God’s timing and plan is something I will never be able to understand but I am so grateful to trust the author of my story completely. This next chapter of our lives will look different, but oh so much sweeter. Our daughter will be 12 and our son just turned 9. The age gap is huge, but they are so excited to meet their brother or sister. Oh yeah, almost forgot, since we’ve prayed and prayed for so long for a HEALTHY BABY, we won’t be finding out the gender until birth. We’ve waited for over 6 years to be blessed with this beautiful opportunity that 9 months of not knowing seems to be an easy trade off. Join us in prayer as we continue to celebrate our newest member to The Mendoza Family for a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery. We are beyond grateful for Gods love and presence. Pray we also experience more joy and less stress during this pregnancy- if you know, you know. Until we are holding my sweet baby our my arms, I don’t think the fear ever stops from creeping in.
