"A nighttime doula will be the greatest help + safety net during the newborn phase - any contribution is appreciated ❤️ Those early weeks mean round-the-clock feeds, unpredictable sleep, and a steep learning curve during recovery from birth. As first time parents, having a night nurse allows at least one solid stretch of sleep so we can heal, regulate hormones, and show up as calmer, more present parents during the day. They support feeding (breast or bottle), help establish healthy sleep and soothing routines from the beginning, and can flag anything that looks off with baby’s behavior, latch, or diapers before it becomes a bigger issue. They also give us hands-on education in real time—how to swaddle, burp, read cues—while protecting our mental health and reducing the risk of burnout or postpartum mood issues. In short, a nighttime nurse helps keep both baby and parents safer, more rested, and better supported during the most intense, sleep-deprived chapter of bringing a newborn home. We will be seeking one for the duration of approx 4 weeks, 3 - 4 days a week to get us through the critical period. Typical night nanny / NCS rate: $65/hr with agencies and highly experienced specialists. Most require an 8-10hr minimum overnight shift."
