We set out to have a “Covid baby,” only to discover cancer had other plans. After a 4½-year battle, an unsuccessful embryo transfer, and a hysterectomy that ultimately made us cancer-free—but unable to carry a child—we faced repeated setbacks, including four surrogate matches that fell through. Just as hope was fading, everything changed: we found the right surrogate. Now, Cecilia Anne is on her way, expected in August 2026 (or possibly sooner).
