Hello, Salem!

Welcome and thank you (!!!) for celebrating the arrival of Salem Camino with us! She's due to arrive at New Years, just in time to warm up our Minnesota winter.

Salem Camino means "the peaceful path" — a name we hope she grows into. It also carries a bit of our story: Salem comes from Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, IA, where Sierra's parents were married. Camino comes from El Camino Real, the road leading from Aston's hometown, San Bruno, CA, into San Francisco, the city where we fell in love.

Salem is our first baby, so we don’t have baby supplies on hand. We welcome secondhand provisions. The only area where new items are preferred is for medical, sanitary, and safety supplies (like first aid kits, nursing gear, and car seats/strollers).

A few additional details/preferences to ensure she gets the most from your gift:

💥 Please avoid toys with electronic elements, flashing lights, or that require charging/batteries.

📚 Books + Notes - We’d love to receive books with a handwritten note in the front cover. These can be children's books or ones she'll appreciate when she's older.

🍼 Feeding - We're plan breastfeed/pump so nursing items, funds for lactation support, and milk storage supplies are appreciated.

💤 Sleeping - Salem will sleep in a bassinet next to our bed, so sleep sacks, swaddles, and bassinet sheets will get lots of use! Nursery items and decor are really cute, but likely won’t get much use.

💛 Hanging Out - We plan to spend lots of time wrapped up with Baby Salem, so soft baby-wearing wraps, swaddles, blankets, and lovies are welcome gifts.

❄️ We hope to get out and about in Salem’s early months, so anything that helps us do that despite our cold weather would be appreciated, including supplies for cozy car rides, winter walks, and travel gear.

Sizing Clothes by Season -

❄️ 0–3 Mo. = Winter

🌷 3–6 Mo. = Spring

☀️ 6–9 Mo. = Summer

🍂 9–12 Mo. = Autumn

👍🏼 Preferred: Natural fabrics that are good for sensitive skin, like bamboo, organic cotton, muslin, and wool. Velcro, magnetic, or tie closures. Warm layers that will keep baby cozy in winter.
