"We never had a baby monitor for Rocky, which resulted in her sleeping with us forever. I think a baby monitor would help us feel safer putting the baby in a different room. I don't know a lot about baby monitors, but I think any would work. I just chose this one because it is adjustable, can swivel 360 degrees, and it sounded like a good one, but we are open to other kinds."

"I have discovered a mattress protector is a necessity with babies to protect your mattress from diaper leaks, spilled bottles and nursing incidents. We like the burgundy or the beige colors, but any second hand one works too regardless of color. We would need it for a queen size. We do have one waterproof mattress cover, but it would be nice to have another for when one is in the wash. Plus the one we have was sewn inside out so you can't actually close it around the mattress."
