"You’ve heard the old adage over and over again: “We had our baby at the hospital, they packed us up, wheelchaired us to our car, and said ‘Good luck!’ Now what?! We have to just raise a baby now?!” After Baby Wingfield is born, we will be staying at the Boram Care Postnatal Retreat in New York City. In Eastern cultures, the care and wellbeing of baby AND mom after birth is a priority, and the research is clear: dedicated postnatal care improves health. This knowledge inspired Boram Nam and her husband to found Boram Care. After the rush of birth, Boram will be a calm, luxurious, comfortable space for Robert and me to bond with our baby surrounded by (professional) helping hands. From lactation, infant CPR, and feeding specialists on call, to neonatal nurses providing assitance with basic baby care, to staff providing nourishing meals and therapeutic treatments for mom, Boram’s team is the true “village” they claim it takes to raise a baby. We’ll be staying for 3 nights, and we are grateful for the opportunity to transition calmly and confidently into parenthood. We’re so lucky to have received hand-me-downs of some of the most important baby items from friends and family, so we are prioritizing Boram and our nursery on our registry, but we will obviously be thrilled for any gift you choose to give to Baby Wingfield!"
