Hi there! I am due December 30 with my first baby and I'm so excited! Unfortunately, at my 20 week anatomy scan, they couldn't see everything they needed to, so they transferred me to a high risk OBGYN. After more hours of ultrasounds, they had sent me to a pediatric cardiologist, who diagnosed my son with truncus arteriosis, a rare birth defect where the two arteries leaving the heart are combined. He is going to need heart surgery right after birth, and every few years after that too. Anything helps us, especially since we will have a long NICU stay, and many hospital stays after that
