Ollie arrived unexpectedly at just 23 weeks and 5 days gestation, weighing only 1 lb 5 oz. His journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Since birth, he has fought through a chest tube, sepsis, a staph infection, 9 surgeries, 24 blood transfusions, and 127 days on a ventilator.
We didn’t get to hold our sweet boy until he was 31 days old, and we didn’t hear him cry for the very first time until he was 127 days old…a moment we’ll never forget.
After spending months in the NICU, Ollie continues to amaze us with his strength and resilience every single day. While we’re not home just yet, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and are beginning to prepare for the day we bring him home.
Because Ollie arrived so early, we haven’t had the chance to gather many of the baby items most families collect during pregnancy.
